T Charles Rhinehart has studied and taught himself and others in this direction for almost 60 years, and Lavetta has participated in whatever direction she could be an aid for the last 30 of those years. The works of the Rhineharts hang in homes, businesses and art collections nationally and internationally, to list them all here is not possible. One of the highlights in their lives has been to have painted together since 1975, leaving their native Missouri for a trip to the Grand Canyon and Arizona. For the remainder of the 1970’s the Rhineharts explored and painted the west, including Wyoming and Utah while making trips back to Missouri to open a studio and a gallery, and to teach. During the recession of the late 1970’s the Rhineharts decided to settle down into a quieter life and moved to a small town on the Missouri/Arkansas border. It was during this time they were introduced to the Knox Galleries and began a 24 year relationship. Charles and Lavetta Rhinehart have owned their own Galleries in Springfield, Missouri, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Pierce City, Missouri. They have shown in galleries in the following locations: Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico; Corte Madera and Napa Valley, California; Denver, Vail, Aspen. and Beaver Creek, Colorado; Harbor Springs, Michigan; Scottsdale, Arizona; Jackson, Wyoming; St. Louis and Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Springfield and Bellville, Illinois; and New Hope, Pennsylvania. The Rhineharts have had many one person showings in different galleries and have participated in museum showings and other art related functions over the last 30 years. They have won National recognition and been awarded honors by their home State of Missouri. The most recent being resolutions from the House of Representatives and the State Senate recognizing Charles’s meritorious endeavors as an exceptional Missouri citizen who has attained considerable success and the other as having brought glory and honor to himself and this great state through the excellence of his achievements in his chosen field of endeavor, with honorable mention of Lavetta as an artist in her own right.
